Fifth graders to star in class play at Prospect Hill

COLONIAL SCHOOL — The fifth grade play will held April 5 at Prospect Hill School auditorium following weeks of rehearsal for 5G and 5V that began at the end of January under the direction of Mrs. Finnegan.

The boys and girls started practicing on different days, one group on Tuesdays at lunch and the other group on Wednesdays at lunch. Once everyone knew their parts, the girls and boys started having play practice together in their skit groups.

Performers had to learn the dance steps to “Good Morning Baltimore” and the bows to “Don’t Stop Believing,” which was made famous again on the TV show “Glee.” Some of the skits in the play include the Cat in the Hat, Peter Pan, the Wizard of Oz, Mary Poppins, and one set in a classroom.

I have been listening to the Fifth Grade students practicing the songs for their play and I must admit, it sounds like a broadway show! Good Luck Grade 5!
