COLONIAL — Summer is a time to relax. You get to go home, and you don’t have to worry about school or thinking. But everyone knows the most important part of summer is watching movies.

Looking at the summer of 2017, among the films that will play are “Despicable Me 3,” “Nut Job 2,” “The Emoji Movie,” “Captain Underpants” and “Cars 3.” There were many different opinions about these new movies at Colonial School.

Brooke Luce in 5M said, “I think all of the movies will be cheesy, and I think ‘Nut Job 2’ will be bad. I think ‘The Emoji Movie’ will be good.”

In KS, Madelyn Fitzsimmons said, “I am looking forward to ‘The Emoji Movie’ because I love using emojis.”

Some kids disagreed with what others think about the new movies being released.

In 3L, Leo Spunberg said,”I don’t want to watch ‘The Emoji Movie’ because I think it will be bad and very cheesy. I will want to watch ‘Despicable Me 3’ because it seems funny.”

Finbar Doyle, also in 3L, voted against “‘The Emoji Movie’ and ‘Cars 3’ because they will be terrible. Although I think all the movies will be cheesy, I want to watch ‘Despicable Me 3.'”

In 2K, Aileen Henry said,”I really want to watch ‘Cars 3’ because I’ve watched the first two. Although I want to watch ‘Cars 3,’ I think all the movies will be okay, especially ‘Captain Underpants.'”

Although there were mixed emotions from some about the individual movies, one student was excited about them in general. Julia Kindig in 5H said, “I think all of the movies will be great, and I want to watch as many as I can.”

On the other hand, Lian Spencer, who is also in 5H, said, “I think all the movies will be babyish and not very exciting for older kids like fifth graders.”

In 2K, Max Berry disagreed. “I have watched all of the prequels of the movies, and I enjoyed them. Therefore, I don’t think the movies will be bad.”

With all of these different opinions, everyone will have to decide which movie, or movies, they want to watch this summer.
