Bus arrives Oct. 31 to be stuffed with PJs and books for kids in need

PJs and books ready to be stuffed on the bus.

COLONIAL SCHOOL — Stuff the Bus is a program that collects pajamas for kids in need.

For Colonial School, the bus is coming on Oct. 31 at 8:30 a.m. The pajamas have to be new, and children’s books can also be donated. Stuff the Bus is a community service project for the fifth graders.

After getting pajamas from the program, “one kid said to me, ‘what are these?’” said Genevieve Piturro, founder and executive director of Stuff the Bus. “And that really touched my heart.”

The program is working on collecting pajamas for older kids too. So far it has distributed more than one million pajamas and books in 50 states. The new goal is to collect 5,000 more.

“I am very excited for Stuff the Bus,” said the principal, Mrs.Wilson.

Other schools in Pelham are also stuffing the bus, including Hutchinson.
