COLONIAL — Chess club is starting up and starting excitement. Every year, Colonial School hosts the club for grades second through fifth grade.

Mike Ellenbogen has been teaching chess club for quite awhile.

“Mr. E is a great teacher,” said Vijay Ranganathan.

Heather Reische said she “stopped at the beginning of fourth grade.”

Chess club is an after-school program that many students attend. Also, Mr. E every year comes into the Colonial classrooms, whether you are signed up or not, and will take his time to explain chess and even let students play it.

“The kids talk a lot, but it’s mostly chess,” said Finbar Doyle.
