DOWNTOWN PELHAM — Even if you don’t have a pet, it’s always fun to visit Ashlin Cooke and her animals at 144 5th Ave. That’s the Pelham Pet Shop.

You can buy animals and products, get dogs and cats groomed and even board an animal. Birds, hamsters and bunnies will love to stay at the pet shop when you’re on vacation.

Ms Cooke, who is the owner of the store, said, “We do our best on our levels for all of the animals and all the people. I took the store over in February 2011. My plans for this year are to add more products to our website. That way we can offer so much more products that I think are good.”

“I would like to have pet adoptions,” said the pet store owner. “We are actually in the process of trying to have a pet adoption. I’m trying to figure out how I can have one.”

“We have so many stories about animals,” she continued. “In fact, people are telling me to make a list! One of the funniest stories is, last year, we had slightly different cages for the guinea pigs, and one morning, I was setting up and I noticed that one of the mice cages was slightly broken. So I just put it back and didn’t think anything of it. But, when I went to go check on the guinea pigs, one of the mice got in there and was sleeping with the guinea pig.”

Ashlin relies on two loyal workers, Jamie and Brendan. I think about how hard it is with only three workers to run a successful pet shop. One day, I would love to work there. On a scale from 1 to 10, I would rate it a 10.

All of my visits to the Pelham Pet Shop have been very exciting. Even if I don’t buy anything, it’s still fun to see all of the animals.

The Pelham Pet Shop has way better service than Petco. What do you think? Please visit the Pelham Pet Shop.
