PELHAM —Have you ever been to the Pelham Art Center recently? If you have, you might have noticed they just hired a new director.

Lynn Honeysett, the former executive director retired several months ago. The new executive director is now Charlotte Mouquin. She was hired because she believes anyone can do art.

“I used to own a art gallery in Chelsea that was founded by a hip hop mogul,” said Charlotte Mouquin. “I was looking for a place right outside of New York City.” Before being hired by the Pelham Art Center, she had never even heard of it before, but she seems excited to be here.

Ms. Mouquin used to work as a high school art teacher before working in art galleries. Some plans she has for the art center are to expand it and add more programs.

“I love the art center and the people I get to meet,” said Charlotte Moquin. “Art is a vehicle for cross cultural connections building community and life skills.”
