PELHAM — Nov. 11 was the 101st celebration of Veterans Day. On Wolfs Lane near DeCicco & Sons Marketplace, a crowd of Girl Scouts and Boy Scouts came together with other citizens to listen to veterans give speeches.

The speeches celebrated veterans around the country who served in many wars. There where veterans who served in wars such as World War II and the Vietnam War.

A man told the crowd the names of a lot of the veterans who were there. The vets tipped their caps when he said their names and got off there chairs and gave speeches, though most of them where short.

“God Bless America” was sung.

Before the ceremony ended, they rang out gunshots then had a moment of silence.
