NEW YORK — The Colonial Times editors on April 8 interviewed several famous reporters, including Ed Upright, who is LinkedIn’s copy editor and a soccer journalist. He’s from England and supports the Sunderland soccer team. He’s been living in New York City with his wife for a year and a half.
Mr. Upright said he is looking forward to learning more about American soccer. He thinks the reason people from foreign countries like America is that everything is bigger—the food, buildings, cars, etc. When he was a kid, he wanted to be an archaeologist because he found fossils in his backyard.
The most interesting person Mr. Upright interviewed is the coach of Manchester United. He said that the most famous person he interviewed is Thierry Henry.
“The least favorite person I have worked with are advertisers because all they care about is selling, not the news,” Mr. Upright said. “The least favorite part of my job is that all of the work comes at once. There are also good things about my job. I like having different things to write about.”
Did you know…
Mr. Upright’s favorite type of food is Turkish food.
His best friend is a funny, strange and nice man named Boris.
“Sherlock Holmes” is his favorite movie.
Mr. Upright’s favorite stories are “Rip Van Winkle” and “The Legend of Sleepy Hollow.”
How many things do you have in common with him?
