Week 2 rec soccer report: boys grades 5 and 6

Les Bleus 5 – Super Eagles 3

In a well-played match that saw terrific effort from both sides, Les Bleus edged the Super Eagles 5-3. Les Bleus forward Andrew Spana got his team on the board with a fine goal in the first period, followed by a score off the foot of Aiden Sisk in the second quarter. In the second half, Nick Wessman of Les Bleus had a natural hat trick with three successive goals, the final tally on a perfectly placed direct kick that eluded the Super Eagles defensive wall to find the upper right corner of the net. Les Bleus midfielders Nicosie Worrell and Paul Lapey both had solid afternoons, with solid challenges and crisp passes in both ends of the field.
Baffana Baffana 8 –  Reggae Boyz 2
The Reggae Boyz fell to a mighty Baffana Baffana squad. Ryan Maguire put the Reggae Boyz on the scoreboard with two beautiful goals. Joel Vieira had several great saves in goal. Johnny Gardener displayed constant hustle while Alexander Brown and James Mitrione anchored the defense for “The Boyz”.

Azzurri 7- Red Fury 4

The Azzurri beat the Red Fury 6-4 in a well played game featuring evenly matched sides, as William Catalano scored two for the Fury, including one at the end of a neat passing move by Jonathan Campisano and Samuel Cork, who each tallied once. Patrick Roche played a great game in the middle of defense, while Anthony Terraciano made several excellent saves during the fourth quarter. For the Azzurri, Charlie Coatman had a break out game playing solid defense and scoring 2 goals. Robert Moderelli played solid central defense in the 4th quarter to seal the victory.
