COLONIAL GYM — The winter boys recreational basketball league was in full swing until the beginning of March, with three teams of fourth and fifth grade Colonial players participating.

One player on Colonial Red, Noah Dedomenico, said, “Our team is pretty good.” He said the Reds will need better teamwork and passing. Their team had a 3-4 record at the time of this writing.

Peyton Kerr said, “We are pretty good if we work as a team, but passing can be an issue.”

Aidan Sinha, a player on Colonial White, said the team is “doing a good job on their passing, although sadly we don’t have our dominant player Will Dunhill” due to injury.

The White’s record stood at 3-5.

Joe Martucci of Colonial Green said, “I’m doing a great job, although our team does have room for improvement—like most—such as ball possession and passing.”

“Colonial are doing great,” said the coach.  “Sadly, Colonial White lost Will Dunhill their MVP, causing defeat.”

The teams practiced after school from the beginning of January until the start of March. The season ran from Dec. 18 to Feb. 27, with playoffs following between the top teams. Of the other elementary schools, Hutchinson fielded two teams, Siwanoy three and Prospect Hill two.
