Music festival gives kids chance to play

PELHAM MANOR — The Pelham Music Festival occurred Jan. 29 at the Pelham Country Club, giving kids a chance show how well they can play their instruments.

From 9 a.m. to 7 p.m., children played their instruments from youngest to oldest. The festival has been organized annually since 2004 by a group of local residents. Pelham Mayor Edward Hotchkiss helped host the event.

“The kids and their musical talents were great,” said Claudia Dodge, fourth grade.

At the end of the first session, a special guest, Tom Smith from the New York Philharmonic, performed his trumpet. Then the next session began.
