24 Club prepares for upcoming district tournament with practice, online games

The 24 Tournament trophy in residence at Colonial School.

COLONIAL SCHOOL — The 24 Tournament will be held towards the end of the school year, pitting the elementary school teams against each other. The Colonial club is preparing for it.

Colonial School has been one of the best schools in the tournament in years past.

“We won four times, including the last one,” said Mrs. Linda Carlson, advisor along with Mr. Ron Martucci.

Siwanoy took the trophy the four other times.

The top eight players in the school tournament will attend the district competition to battle the other school teams. The 24 Clubs and the tournament started in 2004.

Currently, Colonial is in the process of preparing. On Feb. 10, 24 Club started counting points, in the hope of making that useful. The club also uses a 24 game websiteto practice at home. The points are counted, and prizes are given out to the person with the most points, and the “player of the day.”  You can read more about how the game is played and the new online site in our earlier story here.

The kid who has been player of the day the most is Ashhab Khan, with a total of 3,256 points at our deadline.
