CLASSROOM 3K — Mrs. Tonya Wilson, the principal, organized a book club for the third grade girls. The book they read and discussed was “The Gold-Threaded Dress.” It was about bullying, friendship and being different.

At their last meeting, they celebrated with cupcakes, doritos, potato chips and pretzels. The book club members made a craft too. Using pom poms, feathers, beads and foam shapes, the girls made artistic bookmarks to remind them of the book.

Here’s what club members thought of the club:

  • “My favorite part about being in the book club was reading and talking about the book, and learning more about bullying,” said Nya Haseley (3L).
  • “It was a really fun experience being in a book club,” said Sophia Leung (3L).
  • “I think it is a good idea for the principal to get to spend more time with students,” said Sela Roth (3K).

The boys are up next for this fun experience with Mrs. Wilson and their friends.

Thank you Mrs. Wilson!
