COLONIAL—Students differ on whether Colonial should have a school pet.

Bella Cross (5S) said a few years ago, there was school pet that died because it was not properly taken care of. She said, “I don’t want to risk another animal’s life because that is wrong on so many levels.”

Mrs. Wilson said the school should have a pet, which can only be a fish.

Kira Findikyan (5S) would like it if Colonial could have a pet, but was not so sure the parents would. “Lots of parents probably wouldn’t be willing to take the pet home if it was more than a fish.”

Gillian Ho (5S) thinks that a snake would be good for the school “because they are kept in a cage and most people are not allergic.”

Skyler Austin (5H) likes the idea of a school pet, but said that it can not be anything that people could be allergic to. “A fish would be good because it is the easiest for the school to take care of.”
