“We Are Pelham” is an event for the fifth graders from all four schools to join together to meet new people for middle school. The event took place in March at Hutchison school.
The central idea of “We are Pelham” was for fifth graders to make new friends for middle school. There were team building activities to help kids get comfortable with each other and get to know each other. Fiona from 5S said, “I think it was a good idea to meet new people. It was also good because some people don’t play sports and don’t already know some people.” Everyone talked about different things about themselves to let other people know a little bit about them. The kids also had snack together.
The event lasted about three hours and by the end of it everyone had at least made one new friend for middle school.
