The Read-a-Thon is a time at Colonial school when all the students try to read as much as possible. Why? Well because the more you read the better you get at it!

During the Read-a-Thon, you can get a pin that says 100 minutes if you read 100 minutes, if you read 1000 minutes you will get a pin and win a small toy!

If you are in the class that reads the most your class will get a pizza party, but be proud whether you’re first or last. Everybody gets a folder to record the minutes. One of the really good things about the Read-a-Thon is that it gets kids excited about reading which some kids don’t normally like.

In conclusion, the Colonial Read-a-Thon is really fun and the kids look forward to it all year. Happy reading everyone!
