Daylight savings is something that affected a ton of people. People were laying in their beds thinking it was 6:30am but it was 7:30am. Across the country people, were yawning and thinking why so early? Why would this happen?
Every state in the United States of America except Hawaii and Arizona observe daylight savings. Arizona opted out in 1968 due to their desert climate and US territories Puerto Rico, Guam, Virgin Islands, American Samoa and the northern Mariana Islands all don’t do daylight savings.
The History of Day Lights Savings is that it was originally thought about by Benjamin Franklin in 1784 but later adopted by Germany on April 30, 1916 to save energy. The U.S. adopted Day Lights Saving on March 19, 1918, to conserve fuel during WWI, but repealed it afterward. It returned as “War Time” from 1942-1945 during WWII. Later, In 2005, the Energy Policy Act extended the period to start the second Sunday of March and end the first Sunday of November.
In the aftermath of daylight savings people were very tired. People were yawning a ton. Luckily next daylight savings we get an extra hour. It was very chaotic this year. The good thing is the next time this happens is next year.
