What is the Hop-a-Thon? The hop-a-thon is a fun event where we raise money for people who have special hearts that they got from birth or an accident.
Ms. Bagwell said, “We get to use our muscles to support other people who aren’t as fortunate.” The kids do a lot of physical activity. For example, there is jump rope, hurtels, skip bits, springboard, hopscotch and basically anything with jumping. Here’s what some of the teachers and children have to say. Ms. Agostino, a teacher in 1A said, “I think it’s a great way to get kids moving.” Ms. Bagwell said, “The grades that are doing it are grades K-2 and 5th graders. The parents will also be invited to watch and maybe even participate in a little of the action!”
Ms. Bagwell also said, “We are helping people and raising money for people who have neuromuscular disorder. Muscular disorder is when your muscles get weaker instead of stronger.”
So, to sum it all up, the hop-a-thon is a wonderful way to raise money and have fun doing physical activity!
