Spelling Bee

Spelling+Bee

On January 5th, 2024 Colonial school held its annual spelling bee! Twenty-two students, 3rd grade through 5th grade participated. Mrs. Monteleone and Mrs. Stivala ran the spelling bee club. They held meetings every week to help the students practice and get ready for the spelling bee. Many of the students enjoyed the experience and are glad they did it.

Abby Harris a Colonial student said, “I enjoyed the spelling bee and I want to do it next year.” Avery Tripp says, “It was very competitive but so fun.”

This years 1st place winner was a 3rd grader named Allison Charrier. Coming in 2nd place, another 3rd grader, Lila Schwarz , and in 3rd place Eva Shaw, a 5th grader. All three students went to the district bee. Eva came close and won 4th place, out of the high school and middle school students.

Lots of students went to watch the spelling bee. It was fun to prepare for. This year’s spelling bee was a big hit. We hope to continue this great tradition!
